Sophia Ellen Beck^{55,56,57,58,173} was born on 23 Oct 1879 in Texas Co., MO.^{55,56,57,58,186} She was educated at Springfield Baptist Hospital about 1900 in Springfield, MO.¹⁸⁶ After 1900 she had an occupation of nurse.¹⁸⁶ Between 1914 and 1917 she performed military service in the US Army as a nurse during WWI in France.¹⁸⁶ She died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on 7 Nov 1948.^{55,56,57,58,186} Sophia was the nurse of the family.
